Observatory

Wed. 11/13 - We'll be open tonight!

We expect gorgeous skies! Join us 6 - 7 pm for views of Saturn, the Moon, and other lovely objects we can see in the sky tonight. We'll also remain open from 7 - 9 pm for attendees of Open Lab Night in our building.

Please be aware the elevator that goes to the 5th floor is not working. You can still take the left-hand elevator in the lobby up to the 4th floor. From that point, the observatory is only accessible by stairs.

Fall 2024 Public Nights

We'll host public open nights on the following Wednesdays during the Fall, weather allowing (please check here or on social media the day of the event for our weather decision):

  • September 18 and 25, 7:30 - 8:30 pm
  • October 2, 9, 16, and 23, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
  • November 6, 13, and 20, 6:00 - 7:00 pm

We'll also host a special Halloween event the last week of October! Please check back for details.

April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse

BSU hosted hundreds to view the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse.

 

The BSU Observatory is dedicated to educating and sparking an interest in science, particularly astronomy, in the regional community.
